Why do some creators hate generative AI?
Those past years we saw an amazing growth of advanced LLM (large models of language) and the highly increasing presence on the market of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude AI, Gemini, Canva AI, Midjourney and more.
Many people still don’t know what’s AI. They are completely in the dark.
A second group has basic info, but they wonder “Should I use AI in my content creation?’ When to use AI and when not to? Is it good or bad? They do their activies without AI and procrastinate on deciding.
However, there is a third category of people who appreciate it and can’t do business without it anymore. It’s a no-brainer part of their content creation process now. They are the AI enthusiasts.
Even in their personal life they have found use cases for AI. They see AI tools as revolutionary and an opportunity not to miss out on.
Finally there is a fourth category of people. These people are skeptics about AI. They focus on the negative parts they see and doubt AI.
The most extreme of them are the AI haters. They emotionaly hate AI.
Their mind is closed. They don’t like the people who use it, don’t like seeing content produced by AI and value work done by humans only.
Yet, this fourth category is not so closed to AI without reason. On the contrary, they have many reasons that explain why they don’t like AI.
In this article we will list and debate those reasons.
We will understand Why don’t people like generative AI? Why do some creators hate genAI?
1st Category → The Ignorants
2nd Category → The Indecisives
3rd Category → The AI Enthusiasts
4th Category → The AI Skeptics and the AI Haters
I’ll give you the haters’ arguments and counterarguments. You are welcome to form your own opinion on each point afterward.

ToggleWhat is generative AI?
Generative AI or GenAI is a type of artificial intelligence that creates new content such as text, images, music, GIFs or videos, by learning patterns from existing data.
5 reasons why people dislike ai generated content
1. AI content doesn’t feel human
Argument
As of today, this is true. AI patterns are very noticeable. It likes some words like delve into, seamless, leverage and landscape.
It uses a lot of punctuation, the sentences are heavy and we see this robotic style.
So those people don’t want to produce such content and don’t like to read it.
They are convinced that only humans can produce human-like content. Writing with AI will always give it away.
Counterargument
You can make your content better with good prompt engineering.
You can add emotions, decide the sentence structures, use a friendly tone and restrict some words. So, the prompt will help make it more human, as well as the AI tool you use.
But that won’t be enough if you want to make your content sound exactly like something entirely written by a real person.
That’s the gap between people who don’t understand AI and experts who really understand it.
Novice think the game is about generating AI text and immediately publishing it. No, no and a big no!
That’s why, beginners or lazy users will say AI is bad and not worth it because the output doesn’t sound human.
However experts don’t expect AI to write 100% of the content for them. They use it to generate ideas, get a draft and then do solid editing. They know how to make it appealing to humans.
2. AI Content is Low Quality
Argument
A great number of people use AI to generate low quality blog posts on Google and videos on YouTube or TikTok.
They produce them massively causing frustration for people searching for high-quality, human made content. That’s true as well.
They are making people lose time with spammy content or content that feels so AI-generated that we don’t want to read, hear or watch it.
Then their consumers generalize by thinking everything that comes out of AI is low quality.
Many people consider that if you even use AI in your marketing (videos, texts) to sell an eBook for example or even for the cover, it means the eBook is made with AI too. And such an eBook is automatically unworthy of reading.
The perfect world for these critics is one where AI is not used to produce content and where they don’t consume content made by AI.
Counterargument
Firstly, I acknowledge their observation. There is a lot of massively produced low-quality AI content out there. But it’s not all users.
Some people genuinely use AI to produce high quality content. You need to pour into it your passion, expertise, experience, human creativity through heavy editing and finally love.
Yes I’m not kidding, you need to add love for your audience by respecting them enough to do everything you can to give them the best content.
You also need to fall in love with the problem you’re solving. Upload only what’s helpful.
The result will be high-quality content filled with plenty of value. Just look at how good my blog posts are lol.
You can create high-quality eBooks with AI by using the same process.
Before AI some people were producing low quality, spammy content and high value content.
With AI, people still produce low quality, spammy content and high value content.
The problem is not AI, it’s people.
3. AI Steals Content Creators’ Work
Argument
AI is trained on an enormous amount of content creators’ output from the internet, whether it’s text, videos, sounds, or images.
The critics focus more on text and images.
For haters using this argument, when you generate content with AI you are stealing, especially since you don’t give credit to the original author. Most AI tools don’t even show who those authors are.
Many artists who create traditional hand-drawn art feel offended when people who creates AI art call themselves artists.
To them, the term artist should be reserved for those who don’t use AI.
Why some artists hate AI generated art?
Because for them, AI-generated artwork is stealing art on the internet. It’s a copy of someone’s work, not true creativity. It’s soulless, lacks emotional depth, fake, and on top of all that, steals their jobs
Counterargument
When it comes to images what AI does is take inspiration from what exists on the internet and create its own unique work.
Humans do the same among themselves, don’t they?
You see what other creators do, learn from it and apply that inspiration to your own work. It’s called taking inspiration not stealing.
AI creators integrate their creativity and emotions into the prompt.
It doesn’t take as much time or effort as hand-drawing but many AI artworks have their author’s signature style. It’s a new form of Art.
In text based industries it’s more complex. If you copy another creator’s exact words, even partially, without giving credit that’s plagiarism, it’s stealing.
If you want to see clear sources in your output you can use tools like Perplexity or NotebookLM.
AI tools like ChatGPT combine so many sources that the output is unique. As long as it’s something original there’s no issue. You can even specify this in your prompt.
Is it really as simple?
No, copyright is an area where artificial intelligence still lacks clarity. The law are working hard to make sure AI tools are trained only on data they have the right to use.
To be honest, we really don’t know for sure what’s happening in the background of tools that don’t display sources.
That’s also a reason why at AIBusinessLift we recommend to ALWAYS do heavy editing on your AI generated text.
So you are sure to have a unique voice and original work.
4. AI Content Steals Jobs from People Who Don’t Use AI
Argument
Some argue that AI content creation is stealing jobs from traditional creators who choose not to use AI. The AI creators mass produce and sell for very cheap price.
So that attracts more customers for them. Traditional creators get less customers, less earning and feel job insecurity.
For them they are the real creators, do more effort than AI creators so they deserve more market share.
Counterargument
People believe that a content creator who doesn’t use AI is superior to one who does. I don’t think so.
It’s like saying that a person who runs a business without using modern software is superior to someone who uses it.
Sorry but we live in a world with technology.
If both of you want to grow your business and technology helps the one using it to grow faster, it’s not their fault if you’re slow.
I think they’re not “stealing jobs“; they’re just new competitors in the market who attract more customers. As a result, creators using previous methods may experience a decrease in revenue and lose their jobs.
It’s sad, but AI content creators aren’t at fault, IT’S JUST PROGRESS.
When automobile drivers appeared, horse carriage drivers lost their jobs.
When typewriters appeared, handwriters (e.g. scribes) lost their jobs.
When computers appeared, typists using typewriters lost their jobs.
And now with AI, writers who don’t adapt their writing to include AI are at risk of losing their jobs.
The new type of creator isn’t the problem, progress is natural and brings changes.
Traditional creators must adapt quickly. Starting to use AI isn’t the only option, they can reinvent their content or marketing strategies to stay competitive.
Another point to consider is that AI doesn’t just take jobs, it also creates many new ones.
Progress is unavoidable. You can’t stop it, but you can adapt to it.

5. AI Is for Lazy People
Argument
Some creators who dislike AI strongly feel pride in creating all their content themselves. For example, someone on social media who strongly opposes AI said: “My videos may suck, but I made them myself.”
Counterargument
Think of AI as a member of your team.
Do you know a big content creator who do everything entirely by themselves?
I’ve never heard of such a creator. They always have team and show gratitude to them when the get rewards.
It’s okay to get some help and share the credit with others.
Also, AI isn’t there to do all the work for you.
When you use AI the quality of your output still depends on you.
Even though you use AI your efforts matter.
Personally, as a blogger and AI content writer I still work very hard. Every blog post takes me at least 8 hours to finish.
AI is a tool not a replacement for creativity and hard work.
Is AI really a threat to Artists?
From a business perspective it means more competition. But in terms of art itself, it represents innovation and more opportunities for artists.
I met an artist on Threads. She said that she was truly upset to hear how much hostility the AI community was facing from traditional artists.
Here is her opinion on this situation, that deeply moved me:
Of course she allowed me to share this with you. Others creators as well shared with us their amazing AI-generated Art that you’ll see below.
These creators showed me that AI art and human-made art are different kinds of art. Both are needed in this world.
In fact, AI creations give us more ways to express our creativity and can produce stunning otherworldly masterpieces.

Should You Use AI in Content Creation?
It depends on your preference. Just know that using AI is allowed whether you’re on social media or blogging.
It can significantly increase your productivity and results if you know when to use AI and when not to, how to use AI and the mistakes to avoid.
Google and all the companies smart enough to understand that the world has changed don’t care if you use AI in your content. They love it and encourage it.
They’ve said they want you to use Artificial intelligence for high-quality content. Not the low-quality or spammy content that pollutes the internet right now.
Their algorithm will punish you if you don’t respect this.
I like what Rightblogger AI‘s team said:
How to Use AI in Your Content Creation? – The right way
So here is in summary the right way to use AI in content creation:
- You can brainstorm ideas, get drafts, have metrics, do research, have structure if it’s text generation, get images and footage with a commercial license.
- Read the terms of use of the AI tools you use.
- Edit and fact-check everything you create.
- For image generation make sure it’s very different from what you used as inspiration.
- Create original and unique content.
- Respect ethics in AI by being transparent. Let your audience and customer know if you used AI.
- Be aware that AI is not here to replace you but to give you more option in your creativity.
- Focus on solving people’s problems and give a lot of value. Give way more than the people who don’t use AI.
What mistakes AI content creators make?
- They don’t edit their content enough by adding a personal touch.
- They don’t proofread seriously. AI makes mistakes, even though AI gives sources check it on Google.
- They miss emotional connection in their content.
- They don’t keep brand consistency and have various styles because of AI.
- They don’t state clearly that they use AI in their content. That’s a law to respect.
- They get demotivated by the AI haters’ arguments.
Please don’t listen to them and focus on your work and the value you bring to the world.
What Are the Biggest Misconceptions About AI Content Creators?
AI haters have many prejudices about AI. Here are popular opinions but every single one of these beliefs is false.
They think if you used AI:
- You don’t own the work.
- Your content and product can only be of low quality.
- You are lazy and don’t make a lot of effort as a content creator.
- You scam people by selling products without value.
- You are a creator lacking skills and creativity.
- You steal human creators’ stuff and steal their job.
- Your content is not original.
- We can use AI ourselves and get what you offer; reading from you, buying your art or digital product is not worth it.
This is the summary of this blog post. I explained those arguments at the beginning and admit that it’s somehow logical to think like that at first.
BUT in the counterargument, I proved that most of them misunderstood, didn’t deeply test AI tools and don’t know what they are talking about.
There are so many things going on in the AI content creation process that we break up in this article.
But at the end of the day dear reader, you can use all this material to make up your mind. You can comment to let other readers and I know what you think.
